After the great success of the latest exhibitions, Tokyo Workshops and Japan Ghosts & Spirits, which attracted more than 200,000 visitors, lovers of Japanese art and culture, TENOHA Milano and L'Ippocampo Edizioni have created a new sensorial and immersive exhibition: Stories of Women Samurai .

Inspired by the latest and homonymous book by Benjamin Lacombe with texts by Sébastien Perez, published in Italy by L'ippocampo Edizioni whose release is scheduled for May, "Stories of samurai women" will transport visitors to ancient Kyoto between battles, arrows and demons. Thanks to a multi - sensory journey , it will be discovered that the code of the noble samurai also belonged to formidable female warriors . Women ready for any sacrifice, implacable leaders determined to exercise their power with pride and weapons to change their destiny .

In the exhibition, enriched by the illustrations of the French artist, we will enter the stories of the onna-bugeisha, warrior women who later became icons of hope, such as the famous Tomoe Gozen or the sisters Miyagino and Shinobu, who in the seventeenth century learned martial arts to avenge the killing of the father.

These and other valiant women have had significant experiences in history and culture, from the ancient past to the present day, without ever being recognized or mentioned enough over time. Now is the time to uncover and value this buried knowledge.

To meet them, just visit the exhibition, developed in an area of 1100 square meters dominated by a Japanese temple with a Zen garden and sensory rooms, where tradition meets technological innovation: many animations, audio and essences and where there will be no shortage of impactful sets and videos.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on May 27th and will remain open until November 26th 2023 at the TENOHA Milano exhibition space, the first Japanese concept store in Europe, located between the Navigli and the Darsena, in the heart of the city.

With this new project, TENOHA Milano aims at immersive entertainment with its TENOHA Exhibition division, welcoming the public in an area of Milan that is increasingly dynamic and linked to the world of events.
The aim is to raise awareness of Japanese culture with its many facets through initiatives and projects on the theme, which have always been fascinating and mysterious thanks to a thousand-year-old past of history and traditions and a present rich in technology and innovation.
